ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY
Workplace accidents involving lifting and transportation equipment are common and, at times, result in particularly severe consequences.
The Italian National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work’s Open Data also confirms the significant percentage of fatal accidents involving transportation, lifting, and handling equipment.
In Italy, reports of fatal workplace accidents still exceed 1,000 cases annually: 3 a day one every 8 hours.
In a serious injury case, the prosecution and, even before that, the authority responsible for workplace safety oversight examine the general protective, preventive, and safety measures implemented by the “employer” to prevent and safeguard workers from accidents. Furthermore, INAIL (National Institute for Insurance against Accidents at Work) offers a reduction in the average tariff rate to companies (Model OT23) that have carried out interventions to improve safety and hygiene conditions in the workplace, in addition to those required by regulations. If the ICOY system is integrated into an organizational model consistent with Article 30 of Legislative Decree 81/08 and amendments, it can significantly increase the evaluation score for reducing INAIL tariff costs.
